Onwards and Upwards
The National Disability Insurance Scheme providers more than the support needs of individuals and their families. Our plans are about achieving our personal goals and maximising our lifestyle to ensure we can live our best lives and maintain maximum independence into the future.
In addition to support to achieve my personal art and business goals, is a therapy component. I was able to work with my physio this week to write a plan to maximise my current movement and reduce pain cause by muscles tightness. Together with the physio we are exploring a combination of land and pool exercise and remedial message.
Their is a secondary goal to select mobility equipment that be suits my work and body to minimise my pain and thus fatigue. I was very excite to put this part of my NDIS plan in action and think about where these session fit within my work/life balance. Something I been unable to afford professional assistance with until becoming a NDIS participant.

Ipswich Rocks is an Ipswich businesses ineffective to market their business. This involves business decorating and hiding rocks in local parks, for locals to locate during the Fused Festival the 8th to 10th September. So I'll be heading out on Monday morning to hid my rocks for locals to 'seek and find'. Visit the above pages on facebook for more information. If you find one of my rocks please take a photo post it to the above facebook pages and re-hide the rock for others to find.
'Being the best I can be' involves establishing myself as an artists and participating in the local arts community. Bit by bit; inch by inch I using my NDIS funding to achieve this. To by honest their a clogs in the wheels that a frustrating me, like building a support team to allow me to achieve the therapy goals.
However this week I was finally able to sit down and draft a timetable that may help me to achieve each of my NDIS goals and highlight better where the gaps in my support may be.
In the meantime "No Rules!" exhibition opens to the public on Wednesday at Aspire Gallery for a limit 4 days only. This is an opportunity for us artists members to showcase our skills and diversity as well as sharing something of our art practise or journey. So if your in Brisbane this week pop in and see for yourself what we as artists Aspire too.
Moving onwards its time to prepare my next pieces for Aspire Gallery. Specially thanks to my friend Helen who is helping deliver my artwork at present.
