The value of art

Life with art unthinkable

I have an urgent matter on my mind,

I want to debate the value of art,

Don't you dare tell me, you've got no time,

For the practise of art defines who we are.

It is you'll agree art must be valued,

Whet is life without dance, song and rhythm.

It the colour of art, that paint grey skies bright.

If you ask me TV arrived in nick of time,

Now! Don't tell me, you'd never read book,

Or took in a movie while on date,

Or never heard of the creations of Captain Hook,

Or been moved beauty of Swan Lake,

Com'on you're never admired a photo,

That captures the colours so crisp 'n' bright,

Sat in wonder as some played the Chalio,

Or seen Barnes play live on a Saturday night.

This my friend is what we call art,

As creator and audience beginning o blend,

As cords to Advance Australia Fair start,

Tell for art Australia has nothing to spend.
